Position Available: Well Tester

Ember is a well-funded private entity operating coal-bed methane (“CBM”) focused natural gas E&P business based in Calgary, Alberta. With interests in 2 million net acres of land and natural gas production of 240 mmcf/d, we are the leading producer of coal-bed methane in Canada.

We are seeking an individual with a high level of competence and professionalism to join our team to manage day-to-day well testing throughout our field. The shift for this position is Monday to Friday, with every other Friday off.  This is an entry level position, possibly opening the door to other positions for the right individual.

The successful applicant must meet the following:

  • The ability to work independently and within a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer and program knowledge required, proficient at MSOffice products. Comfortable using and learning software programs.  Training provided.
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • A valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Must be able to lift weights of 50 lbs
  • A post-secondary education is an asset
  • Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada
  • As this is a safety sensitive position, the successful candidate is subject to the relevant pre-assignment testing

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient day to day well testing operations including Ember’s annual portable meter program
  • Cross train with Production Operations when testing stops due to field conditions
  • Participate in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) drills, as well as near miss, incident, and behavioral based safety program initiatives
  • Work within Federal, Provincial, and Corporate Health, Safety, and Environment regulations & guidelines
  • Provide creative solutions and effective problem solving of issues that arise
  • Ensure all areas are kept clean to meet/exceed company standards
  • Contribute to the team achievement of meeting business, environmental, health and safety targets
  • Continue to improve levels of competence and interpersonal skills through training, project and work participation and annual performance evaluations
  • Always represent the corporation in a respectful and courteous manner
