Pressure Equipment Integrity (PEI) Inspector
Ember Resources is seeking a full-time PEI Inspector to work in the Facility Integrity Department, a field-based position with the successful candidate working from one of our regional offices located in Strathmore, Pine Lake or East of Lacombe. Ideally, you will live within 45 minutes of one of these locations.

The Ember Facility Integrity department is responsible for verifying and enhancing the safety of pressure equipment throughout its entire life cycle. Our team implements inspection plans, monitors equipment for integrity and maintains inspection records along with many other responsibilities.

The successful applicant must meet the following:
Required Qualifications
• API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector Certification.
• ABSA In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certification.
• Minimum 5 years field experience.
• Knowledge and experience with safe work practices related to oil and gas production.
• Knowledge of the ASME, ABSA and CSA standards, as applicable to the industry.
• Knowledge of corrosion inspection such as NDE, mitigation techniques, deterioration
mechanisms, materials & coatings selection, failure analysis.
• Working knowledge of data management and data modelling. Power Bi experience is a definite advantage. Experience with CMMS systems a benefit.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
The Ember Facility Integrity department is responsible for verifying and enhancing the safety of pressure equipment throughout its entire life cycle. Our team implements inspection plans, monitors equipment for integrity and maintains inspection records along with many other responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties
Reporting to the Chief Inspector, the ideal candidate will:
• Have a high level of honesty and integrity, coupled with ambition and drive and promote strong morale in the field and contribute to Ember’s positive company culture.
• Be responsible for the effective communication, implementation and improvement of Ember integrity management programs.
• Work closely and support Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to maintain a high
standard of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency, while working with and supporting the Pipeline Integrity department as needed.
• Acting as a technical resource on codes and standards, you will guide as required as you are highly self-motivated and have a strong ability to self-manage the daily responsibilities of your role.
• As a critical thinker and problem solver with proven abilities for troubleshooting technical issues you develop and implement long-term preventative and predictive inspection plans for pressure equipment, piping and safety valves.
• Prepare NDE scope of work, coordinate, and supervise inspection contractors.
• Perform in-service inspections to confirm the integrity of equipment, repairs,
alterations, and new construction. Plan and coordinate field and facility turnaround inspections.
• Oversee pressure equipment destruction and manage the entire work cycle.
• Provide field verification on pressure equipment inventory for Acquisitions and Divestitures.
• Review, manage and monitor MOCs & NCRs.
• Complete all industry, company and policy related training as assigned.
• Attend, represent and present at Ember’s monthly safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as required by the Chief Inspector, or other authorities.
