Doug A. Dafoe, CA, President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Dafoe is a Chartered Accountant (CA) with over 25 years industry experience. Prior to joining Ember, Mr. Dafoe was President and Chief Executive Officer of Thunder Energy Inc., a company he co-founded in mid-1996. Mr. Dafoe graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Business Administration, he earned his CPA designation in 1979 and became a CA in 1980. Mr. Dafoe entered the oil & gas industry in 1980 and held various financial and operating positions of increasing importance working for both junior and integrated oil and gas companies.
Mr. Dafoe has served on the Board of Governors of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and has been a director of several TSX-listed companies including Thunder Energy Trust, Alberta Clipper Energy Inc. and Cyries Energy Inc.
Terry Meek, P. Eng., Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Meek is a professional engineer with 20 years experience in reservoir engineering, evaluations and exploitation. His most recent experience involved the co-founding of Thunder Energy Inc. in 1996 and served as its Vice President, Engineering from inception to 2005. Prior to joining Thunder, Mr. Meek spent over a year as an associate reservoir and evaluations engineer with engineering consultants Ashton Jenkins & Associates. From 1990 to 1995, Mr. Meek was a senior reservoir engineer with Encal Energy Ltd., and its predecessor company, Luscar Oil & Gas Ltd., a private oil and gas company.
Bruce Ryan, CA, CFA, Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Ryan has been involved in the North American oil and gas industry since 1985. His career has included positions in senior finance, with a venture capital firm, as a chief financial officer and a corporate secretary and director of a number of TSX-listed companies.
Steven R. Gell, P. Eng., Vice President, Production. Mr. Gell is a professional engineer with 25 years of experience in production, operations and exploitation. He has worked with a number of publicly traded oil and gas companies holding positions with increasing responsibility. Most recently he held the position of Vice President,Production at Thunder Energy Inc. and Thunder Energy Trust.
Ken Ronaghan, P. Eng., Vice President, Engineering. Mr. Ronaghan has 20 years experience in exploitation, evaluations and operations in the Canadian oil and gas industry. He has worked with a number of public oil and gas companies, most recently with Thunder Energy Inc. and Cypress Energy Inc.
Tom Zuorro, Vice President, Land. Mr. Zuorro is a professional landman with more than 28 years of land and related business development experience in the Canadian oil and gas industry. He has held progressively responsible positions with a number of public and private companies, most recently with Thunder Energy Trust. Mr. Zuorro holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta (1978) and is a member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen
Mr. Jim Kelly, Manager, Operations. Mr. Kelly has 30 years experience in oil and gas operations in western Canada and internationally, including drilling and completions operations for both the Horseshoe Canyon and Mannville coals in Alberta.
Mr. Art McMullen, P. Eng., Manager, Reservoir Engineering. In addition to 24 years in the oil and gas industry, Mr. McMullen has extensive CBM experience in both the Powder River basin in Wyoming and the Mannville coals in Alberta.
